The truer statement is that experience is a great best potential teacher—but only if we take the time to reflect on our experiences and make appropriate adjustments along the way.
Here's a thought: How is a broken pencil like a journey that doesn't transform you? They're both pointless! Here's another thought: How is a circle like a journey that doesn't transform you? They're both pointless! Here's a serious thought: The success of a journey is determined by the transformation achieved. If we're not positively changed in some way then the journey has been pointless (like drawing a circle with a broken pencil!) These past several months I've been on my own journey of transformation, through an increase in physical activity and a ruthless change to my diet. 22 pounds later, the positive changes have proved significant. Everything that this series has explored so far—from stasis, to mentor, to fear, and sacrifice—it has all been applied to facilitate this physical transformation in my life.
