"The two most powerful warriors are patience and time." — Leo Tolstoy
It’s been said that we tend to overestimate what we can do in a year while we tend to underestimate what we can do in a decade. In other words, our high expectations and overzealous attitudes blind us into an unrealistic time frame for whatever work we set for ourselves, all the while ignoring our ability to do even more amazing things if we truly commit ourselves.
A perfect example of this is the 17 million years that it took the Grand Canyon to finally be endowed with the title “Grand.” 17 million! I sometimes get frustrated if something takes me longer than an hour to finish something…and it took that canyon 17 million years!
The Magic Word Time reminds us to stay focused when grand outcomes don’t come to pass right away. After all, how can we expect to do anything grand without putting in grand time?
What endeavor are you willing to commit to with grand time?
