Thanksgiving is one of my three favorite days of the year (tied with Valentine’s Day and my birthday) and what I most appreciate about Thanksgiving is that it’s a verb that calls us to action.
This verb reminds us that this day is just as much about being thankful as it is about expressing that thankfulness through purposeful giving. This giving can of course be done in words, but to be most effective it’s a good idea to be consciously aware of giving thanks with humility, with the greater good in mind. And, most of all, to do so not just today, but to make it a conscious experience practiced daily, every day of the year.
Today as you gather with your family and friends, think about how you can express internal appreciation in an external way, not just today but every of the year.
