The word leader originates from words meaning to go on before as a guide and to accompany and show the way, and today it generally refers to the capacity to lead others.
Without effective leadership, we become like a ship with neither sail nor oar nor rudder—aimlessly adrift and destined to bash against the rocks and bends. And yet, when we do have effective leadership, we become encouraged with an empowered captain to steer our ship through the current of change.
The question becomes, who are the leaders you look up to? And how are you using them as worthy models for your own leadership abilities?
