When we choose fascination by design rather than frustration by default we discover something quite empowering: we find that our chosen curiosity can lead to a call to adventure—an adventure that explores possibility thinking rather than limiting thinking. This possibility thinking informs today's Magic Word, which is INSPIRATION.
Inspiration is where empowering dreams and goals are discovered, as solutions to the disruptions of our world. Yet when we instead default to frustration, our curiosity becomes choked, preventing access to inspiration, and ultimately leads to confusion for how to address life's disruptions. HOW? A fundamental practice for staying inspired is to challenge assumptions. For example, for a number of years I struggled with alcoholism and it was starting to have an all-too real negative impact on my life. One day I became inspired by a new narrative and this perspective was a game-changer. This is how it worked: My assumption was that alcohol was an enemy, and that I couldn't drink. But by challenging this assumption that I couldn't drink, to one that assumed that I'm simply not a drinker, I haven't had a drink since. I'm not suggesting that this tactic will work for everyone experiencing this kind of disruption, but what I am suggesting is that choosing fascination to challenge assumptions for continued inspiration will provide us all with a world of possibilities from which to find unique solutions to the concerns of life.
