The word engage is derived from words meaning to attract, occupy attention, employ, and commit, and today it generally refers to the act of motivating your attention, interest, and desire.
When you’re disengaged, you lack the motivation to interact with the world, leading to disinterest, apathy, and an external locus of control.
And yet, when you are engaged, it directs your attention so you can interact with the world and those around you, empowering you to become an active co-creator of meaningful experiences.
The question becomes, what can you do to be more engaged in your everyday life.
