"The applause is a celebration not only of the actors but also of the audience. It constitutes a shared moment of delight." — John Polanyi
Positive people are resilient people, and the most resilient people are those who develop high value relationships. If you or someone you know needs more positivity then take action today by starting a conversation with me.
During my senior year at Salem State University my Philosophy of Happiness professor Dr. Mulnix noted that studies indicate how profoundly disappointing graduation is compared to the 4-year build. (Or, in my case, 15-year build up).
I aimed to prove these studies wrong by becoming an outlier.
Rather than focusing on the one event of the day, I made a whole day of it. I ran a 5k race. I had breakfast with a dear friend. I jumped out of an airplane. I performed a biographical magic show for family and friends, and I even took time to talk with a stranger and drive him to Bradley International Airport so he could get home to see his own daughter's graduation.
In short, I took the time to celebrate the whole day, and honor the grit, the support, and the reasons that I worked so hard to begin with. Life is worth these kinds of celebrations, no matter how big or small an achievement may be.
What's worthy of celebrating today?
