It's been said that the more birthdays you have, the brighter you glow.

This is true while basking in the glow of candles on a birthday cake and it's also true whenever you discover your hidden talents, latent interests, and valuable experience.

Stepping into who you most fully are is a gift that only time can give.

Far from being discouraging, the gift of years can be a valued source of encouragement. For example:

• After being rejected twelve times, J.K. Rowling finally published Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone at the age of 32.
• The Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Toni Morrison didn't publish her first book until her she was 39.
• Stan Lee didn’t create his first comic until he was 39.
• Lucille Ball didn't become a household name until she was 40.
• Vera Wang didn't rise to fame as a fashion designer until her 40's.
• Samuel L. Jackson didn’t get his big break until was 43.
• Rodney Dangerfield didn't rise to fame until he was 46.
• Morgan Freeman didn't start his movie career until he was 50.
• Julia Child released her first cookbook when she was 50.
• C.S. Lewis was "surprised by Joy" at the age of 54 when he finally met the love his life.
• Kathryn Joosten didn't land her first television role until she was 56.
• Colonel Sanders didn't franchise KFC until he was 62.

All of this is to say that the more birthdays you have, the brighter you can glow.
