"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open." — Jawaharlal Nehru This week I traveled to Kemptville, ON to share Positivity Magic with the Upper Canada District School Board. Along with some incredible magic (and a few absurd jokes) we also discussed three strategies for staying Engaged, Empowered, and Encouraged:
Before the presentation I took the opportunity of being in such a beautiful place to find an adventure—and that's what I found at Turtle Trail! It's a short 2.7km hike along Kemptville Creek with adorable turtle-shaped trail markers. Finding opportunities for adventures—no matter how seemingly small—is an easy way to not just go through life, but to truly make the most of every experience. Like the turtle-shaped trail markers, we all have our own trail markers that can guide us through life so long as we know what to look for. It can be as simple as the advice given by the mythologist Joseph Campbell: "Follow Your Bliss." Whatever fascinates you, whatever makes your heart sing, whatever you're most grateful for...seek out those things. If you do, and if you follow through with it everyday, you'll be sure to not just go through life, but to truly live with an adventurous spirit. |
