When the River Meets the Sea
By Paul Williams VERSE 1 When the [C] mountain touches the [C5] valley, all the [F] clouds are taught to [Dm] fly—thus our [C] souls will leave this land most peaceful[G]ly. [Gsus4 / G7] Though our [C] minds be filled with questions, in our [F] hearts we'll [Dm] understand, when the [C] river [G] meets the [C] sea. [G] VERSE 2 Like a [C] flower that has [C5] blossomed, in the [F] dry and barren [Dm] sand, we are [C] born, and born again most gracefu[G]lly. [Gsus4 / G7] Thus the [C] winds of time will [C5] take us with a [F] sure and steady [Dm] hand, when the [C] river [G] meets the [C] sea. [C7] BRIDGE [F] Patience my people, [C] patience my friends; in that [D] sweet and final [D7] hour, truth and [G] justice [Gsus4] will be [G7] done! VERSE 3 Like [C] babies when they are [C5] sleeping in [F] their loving mothers [Dm] arms—what a [C] new born baby dreams is a myster[G]y. [Gsus4 / G7] But in [C] life, they’ll find a pur[C5]pose, and in [F] time they’ll under[Dm]stand, when the [C] river [G] meets the [C] sea. [G] When the [C] river [G] meets the [F]al[C]migh[G]ty [C]sea.
