While on morning recess duty last Friday, one of my third grade students ran up to me and said, “Mr. Cain! Mr. Cain! I wrote a song on my ukulele! Want to hear it?”
She didn’t have her ukulele with her, but she sang the lyrics for me, and it was so sweet! She said she had the words down but was still working on the melody. And my goodness, the lyrics speak right to the soul. I loved it so much that I asked her if she would mind if I wrote down the words, and she was happy to share. I came up with my own melody and spent all weekend singing it. Enjoy 🙂 Light of Life By K.R. VERSE I don’t [Eb] mind if you do [Bb] everything, or if you do [Cm] nothing—while that [Ab] light burns with[Eb]in. [Bb] [Cm] [Ab] CHORUS …burns with[Eb]in. That light, that light, that light of [Bb] life. That light, that light, that light of [Cm] life [Ab]—burns with[Eb]in. [Bb] [Cm] [Ab] [Gm / Eb]
